The best MCP servers for small business in 2026

These MCP servers cover the work a small business runs every week: getting paid, keeping the books, the CRM, documents, tasks and customer support. We read each vendor's own documentation on October 15, 2026, and list the address, how it signs in and what to watch for.

How we picked

Each server here is published by the vendor itself, on its own domain or in its own GitHub organization. Community-built servers are left out, however popular, because a server acts with your access and you should know who runs it. We favored servers a business can connect without a developer, and we say so where one is needed.

Conecto is our product. It is listed last, with the same facts as the others.

The list at a glance

Stripe

Stripe's server at https://mcp.stripe.com, in public preview, reaches much of the Stripe API. Its tools search for API methods, read with any GET method and write with any POST, PATCH, PUT or DELETE method, and others read account details and, in public preview, send and move money from Treasury accounts.1 You sign in with OAuth and choose which live accounts or sandboxes it may use, or you create an agent API key for an agent that runs on its own.1 From December 2026 the server stops accepting full-access secret keys and restricted keys without the Agent tag.1

Watch for: write access includes refunds and deletions. When you sign in with OAuth, Stripe asks a person to confirm some writes, such as refunds and outbound payments. Stripe also recommends turning on your client's tool approval setting and warns about prompt injection when its server runs beside others.1

PayPal

PayPal runs a remote server at https://mcp.paypal.com, with a sandbox at https://mcp.sandbox.paypal.com, and a local version that needs Node.js 18 or later.2 PayPal's own example asks the agent to create a $200 invoice for landscaping work.2 The remote server sends you to PayPal's login page to authorize your client, or takes the client ID and secret of an app from the PayPal Developer Dashboard.2

Watch for: point the server at the sandbox address until the invoices come out right.

Square

Square's remote server at https://mcp.squareup.com/mcp connects to the full Square API, including customers, orders and items, and signs in with OAuth and granular permissions.3 The remote server reaches production data only; to test against a sandbox, Square says to run its local server.3

Watch for: Square recommends testing your prompts against a sandbox account before using the server on your live business.3

QuickBooks Online

Intuit's QuickBooks Online server on GitHub has 145 tools across 29 kinds of records and 11 financial reports, such as the balance sheet and profit and loss.4 It is a local, open-source server (Apache 2.0) that runs on your machine and signs in with OAuth through an app you register on the Intuit Developer Portal.4

Watch for: setting it up takes a developer or an accountant at home in a terminal. It suits a firm that keeps QuickBooks and wants an agent working inside it.

Xero

Xero's server on GitHub covers contacts, the chart of accounts and invoices, and payroll questions for organizations in New Zealand and the UK. It runs locally on Node.js 18 or later and signs in with Xero API credentials.5 Xero suggests starting with its Demo Company, which comes with sample data.5

Watch for: like QuickBooks, it needs someone comfortable with a developer account and a terminal.

HubSpot

HubSpot's remote server gives an agent read and write access to HubSpot CRM data, including contacts, deals and engagements. You connect it through a user-level app that holds the OAuth credentials, and the server lives at mcp.hubspot.com.6 HubSpot also publishes a separate local Developer MCP server for people building HubSpot apps.6

Watch for: the app you create decides which records the agent can reach, so pick its scopes with care.

Notion

Notion hosts its own remote server. Once you approve the connection with OAuth, an agent can search Notion and connected sources, read pages, and create or update pages and databases you can access.7

Watch for: the agent sees everything your Notion account sees, so connect with an account whose access fits the task.

Asana

Asana's server is at https://mcp.asana.com/v2/mcp and needs a client that supports OAuth and Streamable HTTP. Asana says to use the tools/list command in your client for the current tools.8

Watch for: admins on Asana's Enterprise+ and Legacy Enterprise plans can allow or block each MCP client through Asana's app management.8

Intercom

Intercom runs regional servers: https://mcp.intercom.com/mcp for US workspaces and https://mcp.eu.intercom.com/mcp for EU ones, where requests are processed within the EU.9 The older SSE addresses are deprecated.9

Watch for: connect to the address that matches your workspace's region.

Zapier MCP

Zapier MCP gives an agent 30,000+ actions across 9,000+ apps through Zapier, which manages each app's sign-in and the permissions you allow.10 It is included in every Zapier plan, and each successful tool call uses two tasks from your plan's task quota.13 We compare it with six alternatives in Zapier MCP alternatives.

Watch for: tasks add up with heavy use. It fits best when the app you need has no server of its own.

Conecto

Conecto gives an agent 581 tools in 52 areas, including a CRM, an inbox on your business's own subdomain, a phone line, invoices, books, a help desk and a calendar, hosted for you.11 One address, https://api.conecto.chat/v1/mcp, serves every area, and each area also has its own server at https://api.conecto.chat/mcp/<area>. Claude, ChatGPT and Grok sign in to it with OAuth; coding agents add it with a key.14 Reading your own data is free up to a million reads a month, a change to a record costs $0.01, a failed call costs nothing, and each key has a daily budget.11

Watch for: it replaces the job of an app you might already pay for. If you keep HubSpot or QuickBooks, connect their own servers, and use Conecto for the jobs you have no software for yet. Every tool and its price.

How to choose

  • Start with what you already pay for. If you run Stripe and HubSpot, connect their servers first.
  • Prefer remote servers when nobody on the team uses a terminal.
  • Read the write tools. Keep payments, refunds and deletions behind approval in your client.
  • Fill the gaps last, with Zapier MCP for apps that have no server of their own, or with a toolset like Conecto for jobs you have no software for.

To connect any of them, see what an MCP server is and how to add one or the steps for your agent.

Questions

Are MCP servers free?

The protocol is free. The vendors above list no separate price for their servers on the documentation pages we read, so your normal plan or fees apply; Zapier counts two tasks per tool call,13 and Conecto charges per call.11

Which MCP servers work with ChatGPT?

ChatGPT connects to remote servers by address, through Add custom MCP server at chatgpt.com/plugins, if your workspace allows custom servers.12 Servers that take actions need ChatGPT Business, Enterprise or Edu; on Pro, custom servers connect for reading only.15 Local servers run inside desktop and coding apps such as Claude Desktop, Cursor and Claude Code.

Should I use a local or a remote server?

Use a remote server unless the data lives on your own computer or the vendor offers only a local one. Remote servers need no installation, and you can revoke their access from the vendor's side.
