Use it when

Someone moves team or gets a new title.

What it does

Change a person's title, department or manager in the directory, as when they move team.

What comes back

person: the person as the directory has them now; changed: what was set. Every reply also carries cost_usd and balance_usd.

When it refuses

A refused call costs nothing and says what to do next.

Code	When	What to do
`not_connected`409	No directory is connected yet.	Connect Entra ID or Okta with directory_connect.
`not_found`404	The directory has no such person or group.	Look the person up with directory_list_users.
`directory_rejected`502	The directory refused, usually because a permission is missing.	Ask its admin to grant what the message names.
`directory_unavailable`503	The directory could not be reached.	Try again in a minute; nothing changed.
