Use it when

Before comparing a target and peers that report in different currencies, like pounds and euros.

What it does

Amounts converted at the ECB's euro reference rates: on a date (the latest rates published on or before it; none come out on weekends and TARGET holidays), or at a past year's average, for a year's figures like revenue. Peers and targets that report in different currencies are compared in one currency: convert their figures before valuation_multiples or valuation_benchmark. Today's rates when neither date nor year is given.

What comes back

to, basis, rates (each currency per euro, with its day or year), amounts (label, amount, currency, converted, rate) and source; a note when the day had no rates and an earlier day's were used. Every reply also carries cost_usd and balance_usd.

When it refuses

A refused call costs nothing and says what to do next.

`invalid_input`400	A currency the ECB publishes no rate for, both date and year, this year as a year, or a date in the future.	The message lists the currencies; give a date for this year's figures.
`unavailable`503	The ECB didn't answer, or has no rate for that time.	Try again in a minute, or another date.
