Use it when

Before a first call or an offer, to know who you are dealing with.

What it does

A company's record in its register: legal name and form, status, founding date, address, industry codes with their NACE label (NACE Rev. 2.1 for Norway and newer Finnish filings, with rev2: the Rev. 2 codes the other tools take), employees where published, VAT numbers, its LEI, and its officers by name and role (never birth dates or contacts). US companies add tickers and recent filings. Each fact comes with its register, link and license.

What comes back

company: id, name, legal_name, legal_form, status, founded, address, industry (rev2 where it is NACE Rev. 2.1) and industry_codes, employees, website, vat, lei, also (its other ids), officers (name, role, kind), and sources (register, url, license, retrieved); US companies add tickers, exchanges and recent_filings. Every reply also carries cost_usd and balance_usd.

`not_found`404	The register has no company with that id.	Find it by name with companies_search.
`unavailable`503	A register didn't answer, or the UK register isn't connected yet.	Try again in a minute. For a UK company, search by name and use its LEI.
