Conecto in ChatGPT

ChatGPT reaches Conecto through one plugin with sign-in. Every tool says whether it reads, changes or sends something, and every call is paid from the business's Conecto balance at the tool's price.

Connect ChatGPT

  1. In ChatGPT, open Plugins, find Conecto and connect it. The same plugin works in Codex.
  2. Sign in to Conecto. The sign-in page emails a link to the account's owner, or to anyone the owner added. A new business makes its account on the same page, and it starts with $1.00 of free credit.
  3. Pick the account, tick the areas ChatGPT may use, and allow it.

The plugin's address is https://api.conecto.chat/v1/mcp/chatgpt, and its sign-in metadata is at https://api.conecto.chat/.well-known/oauth-protected-resource/v1/mcp/chatgpt.

What stays outside ChatGPT

The plugin carries the tools that OpenAI's plugin rules allow. The rest of Conecto stays with the main connector and SKILL.md:

  • anything that starts a monthly rent: a new email address, a phone number, more file storage, a repeating schedule, an uptime monitor, a whistleblowing channel, a website's first publish and the help center's first opening
  • refunds of top-ups, and bank transfer files for payments
  • AI screening and marking of applicants
  • the lead finder, outreach, company lookups and website legal notices
  • newsletters, social posts and notifications to outside channels
  • connections to other systems, like HubSpot, Salesforce, Google and Microsoft, including connecting a Google calendar
  • the phone line answered by your own server through a webhook
  • company search and estimates, market data, the mergers database and longlists
  • events sent to website analytics by hand, which tie a visit to a person
  • running code, and searching or reading the web

A schedule made here runs only this plugin's tools, with the same limits as a call made at once.

Changes ask first

Every tool tells ChatGPT what it does: whether it only reads, whether it changes or deletes something, and whether it reaches people or pages outside the account, like an email to a customer or a published website. ChatGPT asks before changes as its own permission setting says. The owner can also hold chosen tools for a person's approval, as Approvals describes.

What it costs

  • Each tool shows its price, and each call is paid from the business's prepaid balance. A call that fails costs nothing.
  • Reading the business's own data is free up to 1,000,000 reads a month.
  • A person adds money in their Conecto account, outside ChatGPT.
  • The connection runs on a key of its own, with a daily budget of $20.00 until the owner changes it. The account has a monthly ceiling of $100.00.

Money has the rest.

What Conecto receives

Conecto receives the tool calls ChatGPT makes, with their arguments, and answers each one. The conversation itself stays with ChatGPT. Conecto keeps a call's input and output for 30 days and the rest of its record for 13 months, as the privacy notice explains.

A token works at this plugin's address only. An access token lasts 1 hour, and a refresh token 30 days.

Troubleshooting

  • The sign-in link never arrives. It goes to the email the account knows for you. Check the spam folder, or ask the owner to add you on the account page.
  • A call answers with an error. The reply says what happened. insufficient_balance means the balance is too low for that call, 429 means a limit was reached, and approval_required means a person was asked to approve. Errors lists every code.
  • An area is missing. ChatGPT sees the areas ticked at sign-in. To change them, remove Conecto in ChatGPT's plugin settings, connect it again, and tick the areas.
  • To end the connection, remove Conecto in ChatGPT, or revoke its key on the account page.
  • For help, write to hello@conecto.chat. For privacy questions, write to legal@conecto.chat.
