# Change a short link (`links_update`)

Sends a short link somewhere else, retitles it, or pauses and resumes it.

Send a short link somewhere else, retitle it, or pause it (a paused link shows a page saying so) and resume it. Give only what changes.

Price: $0.01 a call. A call that fails costs nothing.

## Use it when

A printed link should lead to a new page, or stop working for a while.

## Errors

| Code | Status | When | Fix |
|---|---|---|---|
| `not_found` | 404 | No short link of the business has that code. | Call links_list and use one of its codes. |
| `invalid_input` | 400 | The url is not an http(s) address with a full domain, points at a short link, or is not on the public internet. | Send a full address like https://halversoncycle.example/bikes. |
