# Send a policy to confirm (`hr_send_policy`)

Emails each person in a policy's scope a one-time link to read and confirm its current version.

Email each person in the policy's scope (or just those named) a one-time link to read the current version and confirm it. People who confirmed it already, or have no work email, are skipped. Needs a paid account; at most 500 a day. $0.02 per email sent.

Price: $0.02 per email sent. A call that fails costs nothing.

`result`: policy and version; results: per person whether it was sent, and why not (no work email, confirmed already); sent: how many emails went.

## Errors

| Code | Status | When | Fix |
|---|---|---|---|
| `not_found` | 404 | No policy has that name, or a person named in people is not on the HR records. | Call hr_policy_status for the policies and hr_list_people for the people. |
| `payment_required_for_outbound` | 402 | The balance is still free credit. | Top up once (POST /v1/topups). |
| `rate_limited` | 429 | The account sent 500 policy emails today. | Send the rest tomorrow. |
