# Update the design (`help_center_update_design`)

Changes the draft design: theme, whole pages, CSS, words or language; visitors see nothing until it is published.

Change the DRAFT design: theme fields (groups merge field by field), whole pages (each page’s full ordered list of sections), your CSS (replaces the previous stylesheet), the help center’s words, or its language. Invalid values are left as they were and named in `warnings`. Nothing is live until help_center_publish.

Price: $0.001 a call. A call that fails costs nothing.

The help center's look changes: colours, fonts, page layouts, CSS or wording.

## Errors

| Code | Status | When | Fix |

| `tool_error` | 422 | The draft changed since the rev you sent, or nothing to change was given. | Read the design again with help_center_get_design, then redo the change with its rev. |
