# Find a company's owners and subsidiaries (`companies_owners`)

A company's parents and subsidiaries from GLEIF, the SEC and Wikidata and, in the UK, the people and companies with significant control.

Who owns a company and what it owns: its direct and ultimate parents and its subsidiaries from GLEIF, a US listed company's subsidiaries from its 10-K (Exhibit 21), parents and subsidiaries Wikidata records, and in the UK the people and companies with significant control and how (shares, votes, the board). People by name and role only. Notes say what a register doesn't publish. Nothing is charged when nothing is found.

Price: $0.05 a call. A call that fails costs nothing.

`result`: found, parents (relation, name, id or wikidata, country, source), owners (name, kind, control, since, source), subsidiaries (name, id, country or jurisdiction, source), subsidiaries_total, notes on what the registers don't publish, and sources.

## Errors

| Code | Status | When | Fix |
|---|---|---|---|
| `invalid_input` | 400 | The id isn't one of fr:, gb:, no:, fi:, us: or lei: with a valid number. | Use an id from companies_search, like no:961920566. |
| `unavailable` | 503 | A register didn't answer, or the UK register isn't connected yet. | Try again in a minute. For a UK company, search by name and use its LEI. |
