# Estimate a company's revenue from its headcount (`companies_estimate`)

A revenue estimate from headcount and Eurostat's turnover per person employed for the size class and industry, always labeled as an estimate.

An estimate for a company that files no revenue, always labeled as one: employees x Eurostat's net turnover per person employed for its size class (by NACE group) where Eurostat publishes it, else for its industry (by NACE class), in its EU or EEA country, with both figures, the year and the datasets. Never mixed into filed figures. companies_get gives the industry code and, where published, the employees.

Price: Free up to 1,000,000 reads a month for the whole account, then $0.50 per 10,000 reads. A call that fails costs nothing.

`result`: estimate (revenue, currency, is_estimate), employees, country, industry, turnover_per_person_employed (used, and size_class and industry: value, year, nace, turnover and persons), method and sources.

## Errors

| Code | Status | When | Fix |
|---|---|---|---|
| `invalid_input` | 400 | The industry isn't a NACE code. | Send one like 46.69; companies_get shows it. |
| `not_found` | 404 | Eurostat publishes no figures for that industry in that country. | Try the broader code (46 instead of 46.69). |
| `unavailable` | 503 | Eurostat didn't answer. | Try again in a minute. |
