# List the chart of accounts (`books_list_accounts`)

Every account with its code, type, role and balance on a day.

Every account with its code, type, role and balance on as_of (default today). Balance sheet accounts show their balance; income and expense accounts show the fiscal year so far.

Price: Free up to 1,000,000 reads a month for the whole account, then $0.50 per 10,000 reads. A call that fails costs nothing.

`result`: The currency, the day, and every account with its code, name, type, role, description, balance (balance sheet accounts on the day, income and expenses for the fiscal year so far) and archived.

## Errors

| Code | Status | When | Fix |
|---|---|---|---|
| `no_books` | 409 | The business keeps no books yet. | Set them up with books_setup (base currency, start date). |
| `invalid_input` | 400 | A date is not a date like 2026-10-01, or from is after to. | Fix the date. |
